Investment casting · China
Stainless steel casting.
Finished to your drawing.
Custom lost-wax castings for pumps, valves, marine hardware and industrial equipment. From raw castings to fully machined, polished components.
01 / Manufacturing capabilities
Cast the shape. Machine what matters.
- Casting processes
- Silica-sol and water-glass (Sodium silicate sand) investment casting, plus Alphaset resin sand casting, selected for the part geometry, finish and cost requirements.
- Secondary operations
- CNC machining, drilling, tapping, grinding and welding.
- Surface finish
- Mechanical and chemical polishing. Specify cosmetic surfaces and roughness requirements on your drawing.
- Tolerances
- Reviewed by feature, size and process. Identify critical dimensions so we can separate as-cast and machined requirements.
CT4–CT6 dimensional tolerances and an Ra 1.6–3.2 μm surface finish can be achieved by casting alone.
At a 100 mm basic dimension: CT4: ±0.20 mm (99.80–100.20 mm), CT5: ±0.28 mm (99.72–100.28 mm), CT6: ±0.39 mm (99.61–100.39 mm). ISO 8062-3, >63 to 100 mm range, with symmetric tolerance bands.
- Common cast grades
- CF8 (304) · CF8M (316) · CF3 (304L) · CF3M (316L)
- Specialty alloys
- Duplex stainless, nickel-base and copper-nickel alloys, reviewed to your specification.
Wrought grades in brackets are references. Specify the cast grade, governing standard and service conditions with your drawing.

04 / Inspection & documentation
Define quality before
the first pour.
Agree the inspection plan, acceptance criteria and required reports during quotation, so the delivered parts match the requirements that matter to you.
CSMFG quality approachMaterial verification
Chemical analysis and material certification. Third-party laboratory certification can be specified with your order.
Mechanical properties
Tensile strength, Charpy impact and Brinell hardness testing, as required by the material and application.
Integrity & function
X-ray non-destructive testing and pressure testing to the agreed inspection scope and acceptance criteria.
Drawing & standards review
Dimensional requirements and applicable ASTM, SAE, AISI or BS specifications reviewed for the project.
Before you request a quote
A few practical answers.
Can you supply fully machined parts?
Yes. We supply raw castings, proof machined castings and fully machined components. Include the finished drawing and identify the surfaces that need machining. In fact, we support a full manufacturing solution that goes beyond casting and machining, including fabrication, molding, welding, finishing and assembly.
Which casting process should I choose?
- Very small, complex parts with a bright finish: silica-sol lost-wax casting.
- Small carbon steel parts on a tight budget: water-glass lost-wax casting or a composite lost-wax process.
- Parts from tens of kilograms to tens of tonnes, such as construction machinery valve bodies: alkaline phenolic (Alphaset) resin sand casting.
